NOV 7-P-50 Liner Pilot Bushing: Check the Fastener Document

For a NOV 7-P-50 liner pilot bushing job, a torque number without its component heading is an incomplete maintenance reference. This guide helps prepare the document package for authorized maintenance personnel. It does not replace the installed pump manual or provide a removal, tightening or return-to-service procedure.

Identify the component before the value

NOV booklet 25-101131, page 8, places a model-specific torque table in the liner pilot bushing installation section. The same page also contains a different table for suction-module work. A cropped table or a copied model row can lose the component context.

Retain the section heading, model row, units and surrounding instructions together. Do not apply a value from another section simply because its row also says 7-P-50. This article intentionally directs the maintainer to the source table instead of presenting an isolated tightening value without the complete job instructions.

Suggested document check before work

The following fields are editorial documentation suggestions:

Keep a blank or unresolved field visible. Copying a value from a neighbouring model is not a way to complete missing evidence. If the installed assembly or fastener cannot be matched to the instructions, obtain clarification through the equipment maintenance authority or OEM.

Keep purchasing evidence separate

A maintenance table is not a part-number cross-reference. It cannot, by itself, establish that another pump's bushing, studs or nuts fit the installed 7-P-50. Before a parts inquiry, assemble the equipment identification, drawing item, available part marking and configuration evidence. Ask for confirmation against that package instead of describing the part only as a Type P bushing.

The NOV 7-P-50 product page provides equipment navigation. It is not an interchangeability certificate. The wear-plate inspection record concerns a related but distinct component; do not use that record as evidence that the liner pilot bushing fasteners have been verified.

Handover and limits

Mark the document package as checked only for the evidence actually reviewed. Document readiness is separate from physical installation, completed tightening and permission to return the pump to service. Authorized personnel must follow the applicable shutdown, pressure-release and energy-isolation procedures before physical work. This article makes no claim about stock, service life or compatibility of a replacement part.

NOV, How to Treat Your Type P Triplex Mud Pump, document 25-101131, page 8, checked 7 October 2026. The component-specific table context comes from this source. The checklist and evidence distinctions are editorial suggestions. A serial-specific manual and configuration match have not been established for any individual pump in this article.

FAQ

Is the model name enough to select a tightening instruction?

No. Match the component, table heading, units and applicable installed-equipment instructions as well.

Does a shared maintenance table prove that parts interchange?

No. Part identity and fitment need their own drawing and configuration evidence.

What if the installed assembly differs from the booklet?

Record the difference and obtain an authorized resolution before using the instruction for the job.

Does a checked document package mean the pump is ready to run?

No. It records document review only; installation and return-to-service acceptance are separate activities.
